A minor girl was allegedly molested and gang-raped in a Mercedes car by juveniles in Hyderabad. An MLA's son was allegedly involved in the incident, said police sources, adding that all the five accused involved in the crime are minors.
Police launched an investigation to verify the facts of the case, which was registered at Jubilee Hills police station on Wednesday, June 1.
The incident took place on Saturday. Initially, a case was booked under Section 354 of the IPC and the POCSO Act against the three accused involved in the incident.
The 17-year-old girl was sent for medical examination and police have now altered the case and added section 376 (gang rape) of the IPC to it.
A senior police official told India Today TV that an MLA’s son and the chairman of a minority board were present at the party and had accompanied the girl. The victim was able to identify and name only one accused, who is also a minor.
Further investigation is in progress.

The BJP has strongly condemned the horrendous incident. "Out of the 5 perpetrators of this crime, one individual is alleged to be the son of a Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA and another one is a minority chairman's son," said the Telangana BJP.
Hyderabad Police have not yet arrested any accused despite the criminal complaint lodged by the parents of the victim. The BJP has accused the police of slow action in this case.
“We are wondering if the police are waiting for a clearance from MIM chief Asaduddin or CM KCR to make arrests in this case! Series of horrible crimes like daylight hackings, interfaith and intercommunity murders and rapes are showcasing Telangana in poor light.
The fear of the law seems to be at rock bottom in the state,” said Krishna Sagar Rao, chief spokesperson of Telangana BJP.
